yesterday's tomorrow's today

ah yes, the amazing race is finally over.

we were at labrador park today, where i went up the hill, down the slope. then we had lunch at ajisen at IMM; think i've fallen for cute japanese desserts. played in the arcade at jurong centre. i played bishi bashi with sunshine and died very fast =( i watched a pro play a very cool feet-stepping game (with mozart's symphony no.25 as background music) too.

a bus with small kids drove past ours, and we all waved at them. it was a magical moment. it's interesting how we wave at children as they pass us by. someone on our bus probably waved first, and the kids waved back in amusement; then more people saw them waving, unaware of their own cuteness, and in turn waved back.

anyhow, i made some very good buys today:
ah, the other face of my ezlink card now. another jaejoong sticker from comics connection.
took a trip down to phoon huat at jurong while the rest were roaming around elsewhere in jurong centre. i bought the pastry blender (like finally) for $6.10, and i'm so going to put it to use soon. no more having to rub butter with two knives or by hand. then i went to the shop again on the way home to buy the springform pan ($16.25). this one appears to be very water-tight: good for baking in a water bath, but i have to figure out how to release the cake smoothly.

so, cultural learnings from the amazing race:

1. a 'jerome' is a unit representing 67 cents.
2. 生+日=星 (that's why you are a star on your birthday.)
