be now

these are my contributions to 奶奶's birthday potluck, which just ended. the biscotti were relatively untouched primarily because it didn't fit in well to the dinner. (not appetiser, not finger food, not really dessert.) but the goma ice cream was excellent, except my sister still doesn't like black sesame.
the chocolate biscotti recipe comes from dorie greenspan. the dough was a lot stickier than she described, but other than that, not much problems, because sonya taught me to make biscotti before, so it went quite smoothly. they were chocolatey and crunchy.

i reduced the sugar amount from the original recipe by a lot, so this time it was a lot less sweet. i also re-adjusted the milk/cream ratio and it set into a very desirable texture for ice cream, which also didn't melt very quickly.

on a side note, melanie likes to run to me.
