where'er i walk

i have guard duty tomorrow, so i'm just back to make some cookies to bring along. the recipe i used today comes from nigella bites, and it's called 'rainy-day biscuits', another cut-out cookie. supposed to cut them out into sunny/fun shapes (to counter any rainy-day mood), but i just cut them into rectangles.
today's also my first time using waitrose flour. i'm sure sonya would approve, seeing as how its organic. the difference can also be felt; when i put my fingers through the flour, it immediately felt much finer, softer than other flours i used.
the dough is ferrously dark, but as you bake it, the cookies turn out pale brown. this recipe uses almond extract, and i happen to hate the almond smell. but it was not overly assertive in these cookies, so i guess they're ok.
oh, and i made individual-serving croissant puddings to use up the last two croissants i had in the refrigerator.
